Key Laboratory for Micro/Nano Technology and System of Liaoning Province

 

 

Key Laboratory for Micro/Nano Technology and System of Liaoning Province was founded by professor Liding Wang. Presently there are eighteen researchers, including one academician of CAS and two recipients of the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund Award, and seven engineers. The research interests of this laboratory include MEMS, nano technology, information opto-electronic technology, and other related fields. This laboratory functions as a leading group for the research activities conducted by the corporative union for MEMS research and development located in northeast China. There are two post-doctoral research mobile stations for Mechanical Engineering and Instrument Science and Technology, the first class discipline Ph.D program for Instrument Science and Technology, and two second class discipline Ph.D program for Micro-electro-mechanical Engineering in the lab. Academic exchange and corporation with other research institutes have been actively developed, with cooperation with various domestic and foreign research institutes and enterprises already underway at present.

Research Field
     1、Bio-MEMS and Precision Instrument & Equipment
     Focusing on the microsystems for biochemical analysis, the research consists of establishing theoretical basis for system design and fabrication, solving key processing problems, developing new techniques, equipment and instrument for bio-MEMS, research on microfluidics and microstereo vision.

2、Micro Sensors & Actuators
       The research on micro sensors & actuators includes related theoretical study, micro-scale effects, integrated design methods for micro sensors & actuators, sensor & actuator network, etc. The research efforts are aiming toward practical application and commercialization of micro sensors & actuators.

3、Information Technology Related Electronic Materials and Micro Devices
       Based on the study of semi-conductor opto-electronic materials and sensing techniques, research effort has been carried out to deal with novel broad band gap ZnO optical functional thin films and devices, novel organic semi-conductor material, electronic and opto-electronic devices.

4、Nano Materials & Devices
       The research deals with functional nano-powders, fabrication of heterozygous material, 1-D nano material and devices, with emphasis on the application and industrialization of nano technology.

5、High Precision Gear Research Laboratory
       High precision gear research laboratory was established by the famous gear expert Academician Liding Wang. The processing capacity of class-1 gear artifact was obtained by refining domestic gear grinding equipment and innovating gear grinding and measuring technologies. The class-1 gear artifacts have been provided to China Institute of metrology, China Institute of measurement and testing technology, Liaoning Institute of Metrology and other national and provincial level measurement mechanism for the calibration of gear measurement instrument and quantity value transfer.

Main Achievements

In the past five years, we have obtained one second-prize of the State Technological Invention Award, two second-prizes and  two third- prizes of Provincial and ministerial level. Eighteen patents, more than 100 SCI indexed papers, and three academic books have been published.
